Matkusta Helsingistä laivalla yön yli, tai hyppää Allegro-junaan ja ole perillä 3,5 tunnissa. Kuluta päivä tutkien Eremitaasin valtavaa taideaarteiden kokoelmaa, kiipeä Iisakin kirkon katolle ja näe kaupungin kattojen ylle, päivittele töykeitä asiakaspalvelijoita (jos et puhu Venäjää), ja kun et illalla jaksa enää kävellä Nevskin toiseen päähän, nosta peukalo ja nappaa pimeä taksi.

Saint Petersburg. World's northernmost city with over million residents, Russia's second largest and maybe the most "Western" city. From Helsinki you can travel there overnight on a cruise ship, or you can hop on an Allegro train and be there in 3,5 hours. Spend the day immersing yourself in the huge art collection of the Hermitage, climb up to the top of the Saint Isaac's Cathedral to get a view over the city's roofs, be surprised about the non-existent customer service (unless you speak Russian), and in the evening, when you're too tired to walk the whole way back along Nevsky Prospect, just lift up your thumb and catch an unofficial taxi. |
