JES! Vaikka suurin osa ennen vaihtoa kokoamassani toivepostauksessa mainituista paikoista jääkin rajoitetun budjetin ja ajanpuutteen vuoksi tällä erää näkemättä, yksi tärkeimmistä lähtee ensi kuussa kuitenkin toteutukseen: Lofootit! Huhtikuun loppupuoliskolla matkustan kahden kämppikseni kanssa Bodøn kautta lautalla Moskenesiin, ja tukikohtanamme toiminee kaikki neljä yötä kylä nimeltä Å. Luvassa toivottavasti hyviä ulkoilusäitä ja mielettömiä maisemia! Kaikki vinkit otetaan vastaan! Olen innoissani!

YAY! Even though most of the places listed on my wish list must be left for another time due to my very limited budget and time, one of the most important places is going to be ticked off the list next month: Lofoten! I'm going there for 4 nights with two of my roommates, and we'll probably set up our base in a village called Å. I'm expecting lots of hiking, nice enough weather and magnificent views! All tips are welcome! I'm excited!

Halfway through

Joululoma meni nimensä mukaisesti täysin lomatunnelmissa, jättäydyin pimentoon blogimaailman asioista ja nautin täysillä Suomi-ihmisten seurasta sekä jouluruoista. Nyt olen kuitenkin palannut taas entistä motivoituneempana opintojen pariin tänne Etelä-Norjaan, ja keväästä onkin tulossa opintojen osalta varsin kiireinen.

I spent the holiday season pretty much as I think it should be spent - with friends and family and lots of food, not really giving any thought to studies or blogosphere or any other responsibilities. But now I'm back in Southern Norway, more motivated than ever to continue on with my studies. And this spring is in fact going to be very busy when it comes to studying.

A little spontaneity never hurt anyone

I'm not a morning person. Evenings and nights are hands down the times of day when I'm at my most active, when it comes to creativity and thinking. For example, two years ago when I was applying to study film production, I did all my portfolio work at night. The expression "to sleep on it" exists for a reason. Usually decisions made after dark are based on emotions rather than rationality, and the next morning could see some regret taking place. But I have no regret for the decision I made last night.

A wish list for the next 12 months

Saahan? Helsingin helle saa ajatukset harhailemaan viileämmille seuduille.

I'm flying to Norway in two months' time. There are still many puzzles that need solving, but I'll try and focus on my studies for a few more weeks. It is allowed to take a break from writing essays and studying for exams though. Isn't it? The current heat in Helsinki makes one's thoughts wander off to cooler regions.
